PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of a conventional receiver has had a useless time for both a broadcast station and a viewer resulting from delayed display of interactive information on a screen of the receiver with respect to the operation because acquisition and decoding processing of ordinary interactive information is conducted after the selection of a program having information of an interactive function. SOLUTION: The receiver of this invention is provided with a means that selects video information, audio information and interactive function information sent from a broadcast station and with a rewritable storage area, stores character information or the image information to the storage area, and displays the character information or the image information in the storage area for a specific period (a data acquisition processing period and a data decoding processing period for the interactive information) prior to execution of the interactive function when the interactive function is executed.
