Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and low-cost overflow device? which can control unnecessary flow of fuel out of an overflow pipe and can be easily applied to conventional carburetors. SOLUTION: This overflow device for a float type carburetor comprises: an overflow pipe 21 having an upper opening 21b open to a float chamber upper than a certain fuel level; a shield 22 forming a shielding space 23 near the upper opening 21b and upper than the fuel level. The shield 22 comprises a side wall 22a extending vertically in relation to the upper opening 21b, a ceiling wall 22b above the opening 21b, and a bottom wall 22c below it. The bottom wall 22c has fuel holes 24 for permitting the flow of fuel to and from the shielding space 23. The side wall 22a has air holes 25 for suppressing the flow of fuel into the shielding space 23.
