PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel and useful biodegradable polyester. SOLUTION: The biodegradable polyester is made of lactic acid and according to demand, another hydroxy acid (one or more). The polyester has carboxyl groups of 4-100 and an average molecular weight of 1,000-200,000 g/mol.
