HEAD SUPPORTING MECHANISM AND DISK DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the turnability of a magnetic head accompanying downsizing of a head supporting part. SOLUTION: The head supporting mechanism 23 comprises a holding block 27, a gimbals plate 26 and a magnetic head 16. The magnetic head 16 is provided with a gap 69 for high-density recording and reproducing in one rail part 68a formed at a slider 68 made of ceramics and is provided with a gap 70 for 2DD/2HD in another rail part 68b. The gimbals plate 26 supports a head supporting surface 71 fixed with the magnetic head 16 in such a manner that the head supporting surface is turned around to two axes (X-axis and Y-axis) orthogonal with each other by bridge parts 72 and 73. A bridge part 73 is formed to a crank shape and has a longitudinal part 80 which extends to an air inflow side in the X-axis direction, a first juncture 81 which connects the one end of the longitudinal part 80 and a frame 74 and a second juncture 82 which connects the other end of the longitudinal part 80 and the head supporting surface 71.
