VEHICLE EXCITING METHOD, EXCITER AND VIBRATION CHARACTERISTIC DETECTING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily estimate the cause of generation of the abnormal vibration of a four-wheel vehicle. SOLUTION: Four wheels 22 of the four-wheel vehicle with the abnormal vibration generated therein are supported on a steel plate 32, one exciter 10 is mounted on each of the four wheels, the four exciters 10 are controlled by a computer, the vibration test of the four-wheel vehicle is carried out to estimate the cause of generation of the abnormal vibration. The exciters 10 are mounted on a disk wheel 24 by a hub bolt and a hub nut 38 to mount the disk wheel 24 and a plurality of stays 42. The exciters 10 apply the excitation force to the disk wheel 24 by an eccentric rotating body 60 to be rotated by an AC servo motor 62. The frequency of excitation is changed by changing the rotational speed of the eccentric rotating body 60 in each exciter 10, conditions of excitation in which the vibration on and above the predetermined level are generated are searched, and the cause of generation of the abnormal vibration is estimated from the conditions of excitation.
