PEPTIDE AND ADSORBENT WITH THE PEPTIDE IMMOBILIZED THEREON

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a peptide capable of specifically bonding to an endotoxin, and further to provide an inexpensive absorbent capable of selectively adsorbing and removing the endotoxin, minimized in a decrease in the absorbing and removing ability when carrying out a sterilizing treatment or preserving the adsorbent, and having high safety. SOLUTION: This peptide has an amino acid sequence represented by general formulas (I) X-Val-Gln-Gly-X-Trp-Lys-Val-X-Lys, wherein X is Arg, His or Lys or (II) Phe-His-X-Asn-His-X-Ser-Pro-Val-Thr, wherein, X is Arg, His or Lys, and is composed of 10-50 amino acid residues. The adsorbent has the peptide immobilized on a carrier.
