CULTURED OYSTER RAFT AND METHOD FOR USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cultured oyster raft capable of controlling the occurrence of red tide by flagellate such as Heterocapsa belonging to the order Peridiniales, giving rise to a big problem in culture of oyster and to provide a method for using the raft. SOLUTION: A raft body 2 which is constituted by combining raft members 3 fixing plural wires 8 holding the cultured oyster K so as to suspended the wires in the sea is provided with at least a light screening member 5 for preventing the incidence of sunlight into the underwater part where the cultured oyster K is positioned. The sunlight screening member 5 is installed on the top side of the raft body 2 and is made into a freely drawing and winding roll type. When the intensity of sunlight is strong, the incidence of sunlight into the underwater part where the cultured oyster K is positioned is prevented by the sunlight screening member 5.
