Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To process stream data on the data reception side without dropout when transmitting stream data through a network in an IEEE 1394 system or the like. SOLUTION: When stream data obtained in an output device 1 from a prescribed data source 1a is outputted to a prescribed network and is received by an input device 3, a command indicating transmission of stream data is sent from the output device 1, which preliminarily has registration about the input device 3, to the registered input device 3, and output processing of stream data from the data source 1a is started when a prescribed state like acknowledgment to the command is detected after sending of this command.
