Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic medical record system capable of surely and easily retrieving the medical records of plural medical institutions. SOLUTION: This system is provided with a data base server for the centralized or distributed management of medical records of the plural medical institutions and a client connected through a communication line to the data base server for exchanging information with the data base server, the client transmits the insurance certificate information of a patient (information extracted from the certificate of insurance and capable of specifying the patient) or information for providing the insurance certificate information to the data base server and the data base server retrieves the medical record of the patient on the basis of the insurance certificate information taught from the client and returns the retrieved medical record or link information thereof to the client.
