Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stepwise and easily adjust balancing force without forcing a painful work posture. SOLUTION: This balancing device of a double hung window is composed of a balancing force adjuster 6 being fixedly arranged on the upper side of vertical frames 2A, 2B and adjusting balancing force, a balancing force generator 8 for generating the balancing force, a slide block 11 being fixedly arranged in a lower stile side part of a paper sliding door 3 and lifting together with the paper sliding door 3 and a spiral rod 12 having the lower end connected to the slide block 11, the tip side inserted inside from a lower end surface of the balancing force generator 8 and winding/unwinding a torsion spring 10 arranged inside the balancing force generator according to lifting of the slide block 11 for operationally linking this slide block 11 and the balancing force generator 8.
