Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focus adjustment method and device capable of precisely detecting a relative quantity of an energy density and precisely adjusting focus. SOLUTION: By moving a condensing lens 4 in a vertical direction, a reflecting beam near a working point is caught as a plane picture with a CCD camera 7 from the upper face of the working point, and the areas having luminance of a fixed value or more are calculated, then the condensing lens 4 is adjusted to the position where the area is maximum.
