POSITIONING INPUT DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability of a position input device for moving a cursor and performing clicking on the screen of a display device and to easily install more push buttons. SOLUTION: This position input device 11 is provided with a position specifying means 15 for specifying the moving direction and moving distance, etc., of a cursor position on the screen of the display device for displaying various kinds of information sent from electronic equipment, the push buttons 16, 17, 19 and 20 for inputting the position specified by the position specifying means 15 by the operation of fingers and a device main body 12 composed by mounting the position specifying means 15 and the push buttons 16, 17, 19 and 20. The device main body 12 is provided with a vertical direction holding part 12a, capable of holding in the state of turning the palm of a person sideways with the little finger pointing down, and at least one or more push buttons 16, 17, 19 and 20 which are operable with thumb and the fingers other than the thumb are provided on both side parts of the holding part 12a.
