SOLUTION: In temporarily connecting the new gas pipe 2 buried in a shallower layer than the existing gas pipe 1 with an end portion of the underground existing gas pipe 1, two elbows 3 and 4 to be connected to the end portion of the existing gas pipe 1 and the end portion of the new gas pipe 2 via first and second pipe joints 9 and 21, at least one straight short pipe 32 disposed between the elbows 3 and 4, and a housing type pipe joint 15 to butt-joint end portions of the elbows 3 and 4 and the straight short pipe 32 to each other are prepared, and the end portions of the existing gas pipe 1 is connected to the end portion of the new gas pipe 2 using the two elbows 3 and 4, or using the two elbows 3 and 4 and at least one straight short pipe 32. |
