RELEASE LINER AND PRODUCTION METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a release liner capable of applying release treatment to a base material by a simple means and a simple process, keeping good release properties over a long period of time and not exerting adverse effect on quality when used as a base material of a self-adhesive tape. SOLUTION: A release liner is constituted by providing a release agent layer on the surface of a base material and the release layer is formed by frictionally transferring a release agent in a solid state to the surface of the base material. This release liner can be produced by bringing the release agent in a solid state into contact with the surface of the base material and moving at least one of the base material and the release agent in the solid state along the longitudinal direction of the base material to frictionally transfer the release agent in the solid state to the surface of the base material. Frictional transfer may be performed in such a state that the base material and/or the release agent in the solid state are heated.
