POSITION DETECTION METHOD AND DEVICE FOR RADIO MOBILE STATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a radio mobile station to detect a position highly precisely on the basis of a reception electric field strength from base stations. SOLUTION: In the system where a position is detected on the basis of a radio wave strength from base stations at a measurement point of a service area, in the case that the electric field strength cannot be detected at the same point on the basis of the basic data in an electric field strength data storage section, the position detection precision can be improved by supplementing the data. Furthermore, a position detector or a terminal has a characteristic of a terminal whose electric field strength is measured so as to eliminate the terminal characteristic from the result of measurement so as to enhance the position detection accuracy. The basic data are provided for each state in an environment with many changes in a radio wave environment such as the effect of a train of a station and the basic data are calculated by each state by utilizing geographic information so as to suppress the effect of the state and deterioration in the position detection accuracy.
