Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inexpensively obtaining D-tryptophane or tryptophane derivative that is important as a raw material for medicines by using industrially available (S)-mandelic acid as an optical resolution agent. SOLUTION: In the optical resolution of DL-tryptophane ester into optically active tryptophane or tryptophane derivative, an optically active mandelic acid is used as an optical resolution agent to form their diastereomer and the diastereomer is separated by the fractional crystallization.
