Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the depth of a printing apparatus to shorten a processing time in a printing apparatus aligning an alignment mark with the reference mark of a passbook. SOLUTION: Alignment marks 1, 2 and a paper detection sensor 5 separated from these marks by a predetermined distance are provided. Standard marks 121-129 becoming alignment standards are provided to an inserted passbook 12. In this constitution, the alignment marks 1, 2 are changed corresponding to the positions of the standard marks 121-129, and the passbook is fed by the distance corresponding to each of the alignment marks to determine a printing position.
