Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply for an arc welding of AC or AC/DC in which an insulating transformer is made light weighted, compact and low priced. SOLUTION: An auxiliary coil 50a and an auxiliary coil 50b are provided at the secondary side of a high frequency transformer 50, the output of the auxiliary coil 50a is rectified with a rectifying circuit 31 and used as a charging power supply for a snubber circuit 15, the output of the secondary coil 50c is rectified with a rectifying circuit 32 and used for an inspection power supply. A first inverter circuit 3 and a second inverter circuit 6 are operated while a switch 36 is open when a welding is executed. Further, the first inverter circuit 3 is operated while the second inverter circuit 6 is in inactive stand by and a switch 36 is closed when the position of a work 11 is measured.
