Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear motor type conveyor, which can secure high stop positional accuracy and simplify the construction of the conveyor as a whole. SOLUTION: An LRM stator 5 for a linear reluctance motor is laid at the prescribed section of a conveyance route 1 near a loading/unloading station 4 and LIM stators 6 for a linear induction motor are laid in the other sections. A carrier 3 has a primary core, on which a coil is wound with distributed winding which is the winding type of a linear induction motor driven by a 3-phase AC and a universal inverter which controls 3-phase sine wave currents. A current is applied to the primary core by a general-purpose inverter and a magnetic field is induced in the primary core to drive the carrier 3. The command value of the inverter is changed, so as to have the primary core function as a linear reluctance motor when the carrier 3 is in the section, where the LRM stator 5 is laid and function as a linear induction motor, when the carrier 3 is in the sections where the LIM stators 6 are laid.
