Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a self-adhesive masking tape by using a nonthermoplastic elastomer without using solvents and carrying out mastication on a wed-form backing based on a paper or a nonwoven material. SOLUTION: This self-adhesive masking tape is obtained by using a continuous running unit having a filling section and a compounding section, (a) providing a solid component of a self-adhesive composition (the nonthermoplastic elastomer and a resin, etc.), to the filling section and further providing a filler, a colorant and a cross-linking agent according the case, (b) transporting the solid component from the filling section to the compounding section, (c) adding a liquid component, e.g. a plasticizer, the cross- linking agent, a tackifying resin or the like to the compounding section, (d) generating the uniform self-adhesive composition in the compounding section and coating the web-form material therewith without using the solvents and carrying out the mastication for the nonthermoplastic elastomer. An applicator unit having 2-5 rolls capable of individually setting temperatures especially within the range of 20-150 deg.C for the coating of the web-form material.
