Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a channel allocation method for equipment that has a digital interface, such as an IEEE1394. SOLUTION: This method includes a step, where a channel number that is to be allocated to an output plug is calculated according to a constraint condition, that complies with digital interface standard, a step where the allocation of the calculated channel number is tried to the output plug and a step where a channel is allocated to the channel number when the try of allocation of the channel number succeeds, an arbitrary channel number is allocated when the try of allocation of the channel number fails, a state value of a prescribed part is set according to the optional channel number, so as to satisfy the constraint condition accordant with the digital interface standard and then a channel is allocated to the arbitrary channel number.
