PTC STARTER HAVING SAFETY FUNCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PTC starter having a safety function with excellent safety which can prevent the starter from sparking, burning, or generating smoke or flame when the PTC device is broken and spring contacts do not contact with each other although the PTC device is broken. SOLUTION: The PTC starter comprises a case and a PTC device disposed between two spring contacts in the case. A resin which is melt due to abnormal heating of the PTC device is interposed between the case and the spring contacts. The spring contacts are pressed resiliently to the PTC device by this resin and the PTC device is interposed between the two spring contacts and contacts with the spring contacts. When the resin is melt, the spring contacts are separated from the PTC device.
