Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method for a catalyst for synthesizing unsaturated aldehydes and unsaturated carboxylic acids at a high yield in a gas-phase catalytic oxidation reaction. SOLUTION: A raw material salt solution containing at least molybdenum, bismuth, iron, nickel and/or cobalt as catalyst ingredients is subjected to a heating treatment to obtain a catalyst precursor powder having an ignition loss of 1-5%. Subsequently the catalyst precursor powder is molded and burned to form a catalyst for synthesis of unsaturated aldehydes and unsaturated carboxylic acids.
