Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching power supply which can control power loss to such a small value in the small power consumption condition, where there is no need for improving the power factor. SOLUTION: An output power detecting circuit 22 outputs, when an output power is smaller than the threshold, a control signal which does not allow a voltage-boosting chopper circuit 5 to function for improving the power factor and also outputs, when the output power is larger than the threshold, a control signal allowing the voltage-boosting chopper circuit 5 to function to improve the power factor. The voltage-boosting chopper circuit 5 causes the voltage boosting function to stop based on the control signal, when it receives a control signal for not casing the power factor improvement to function from an output power detecting circuit 22. As a result, the output voltage of a bridge rectifier 2 is outputted through slewing to a smoothing capacitor 7. |
