COORDINATE INPUT TOOL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coordinate input tool capable of outputting a prescribed information without using a mechanical contact switch. SOLUTION: When the tip of a pen is pressed onto a writing plane, an ink cartridge 63 is displaced toward the rear end, the top ends of plural light absorbers 66a attached to the rear end 63a of the ink cartridge 63 are pressed onto a light scattering plate 74 and the area of contact between the top ends of the light absorbers 66a and a scattering and reflecting plane 74a is increased. Thus, since one part of emitted light 61a from an LED is absorbed by the light absorbers 66a, the quantity of received light 72a received from the scattering and reflecting plane 74a to a PD is decreased. Namely, since the received light quantity of the PD is increased/decreased corresponding to increase/ decrease in the pressure of the pen, the level of an output signal from the PD can be changed.
