Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chromium-plated piston ring excellent in oil retainability and having fatigue strength and film impact strength withstanding the high outputting of an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: An under coat layer (lowest chromium plating layer) 2 is formed on the outer face including at least the sliding face of a piston ring body 1, and, a chromium plating layer group 3 is formed thereon. The chromium plating layer group 3 is composed of laminated plating 3A consisting of the aggregation of plural chromium plating layers 3a, 3b having the same thickness and an outermost circumferential chromium plating layer 3B formed on the outermost circumference and subjected to polishing working along the sliding face. Fine cracks are formed on the surface of each chromium plating layer 3a, 3b by a reverse electrolysis stage. The outermost circumferential chromium plating layer 3B is thicker than each chromium plating layer 3a or the like composing the laminated plating 3A, and the thickness of the outermost circumferential chromium plating layer 3B is within the range of 1 to 80 μm. |
