MATERIAL CONTROL METHOD AND DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operation rate of a device by speedily coping with shortage of material in mounting material for plural electronic parts onto circuit boards by a mounting device. SOLUTION: This control method comprises a first process of predicting time of material shortage of material for electronic parts and order of material for electronic parts to be short based on production progress information in a mounting device 7, and a second process of outputting an alarm for part shortage to alarm lamps 10 respectively installed on material racks 9 for storing material 4 for the respective electronic parts based on result of prediction in the first process. Material for electronic parts likely to be short can thus be preliminarily prepared to be shipped, thereby material supplying work can be smoothly performed when material shortage occurs.
