COUNTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an accident owing to contact with a corner part in a state where a physically challenging person, or the like, is sitting on a chair (including a wheelchair) by providing a protecting member for enclosing at least a part of the corner part which is not abutted on a structure body wall and forming the protecting member through the use of a material being softer than that of a counter body. SOLUTION: An opening part 2 with an attached sink is arranged and a metallic faucet, or the like, that is, utensils required for washing face, hair or dishes, or the like, is attached in the circumference of the part 2 in a counter 1. The counter 1 is provided with a top plate 3, an apron 4 and a back guard 5 and the top plate 3 is supported by brackets 6 and 7. A cover member 14 consisting of the soft material as the protecting member is adhered and fixed to the corner part at a side having the apron 4, which is not abutted on the structure body wall on the top plate 3 on the counter 1. When the cover member 14 is attached, a recessed part is formed on the attachment surface of the member 14, fitted to the corner part of the top plate 3, and then, fixed by a fastening member.
