PILLAR GARNISH FITTING STRUCTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide pillar garnish fitting structure preventing a pillar garnish from interfering with a door and the appearance of an outer surface (a design surface) from being impaired, with simple structure. SOLUTION: This pillar garnish fitting structure has a reference fitting part, a plurality of first movable fitting parts 7 provided on the door side in the cross direction of the pillar garnish 3, and a plurality of second movable fitting parts 8 provided on the opposite side to the door side in the cross direction. It is so constituted that the longitudinal thermal expansion of the pillar garnish 3 is allowed at the first movable fitting parts 7 and that the cross direction and longitudinal thermal expansion of the pillar garnish 3 is allowed at the second movable fitting parts 8. The expanding direction, particularly cross direction expansion, of the pillar garnish 3 when thermally expanded can thereby be easily controlled to prevent interference with the door. At the second fitting parts 8, the pillar garnish 3 is fitted in such a manner as to be energized toward a cross direction reference position. The pillar garnish 3 is thereby returned positively into its original position when it is returned into its original shape after thermally expanded (contracted), so that appearance is remarkably improved.
