SOLUTION: In this nickel - hydrogen alkaline storage battery, a negative electrode containing a hydrogen storage alloy as a main constituent and a positive electrode containing a nickel oxide as a main constituent are installed in a battery can through a separator with an alkaline electrolytic solution impregnated. In this case, a rare-earth compound exceeding saturated concentration is dispersed in an ion state or molecule state in the alkaline electrolytic solution.
