Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a latex composition for under coating of release paper, having excellent blocking resistance and cleanability of coating apparatus by compounding a carboxyl group modified latex having a specific % or more of a gel component with a zinc compound. SOLUTION: A radically polymerizable monomer comprising 0.5-10 wt.% of an ethylenic unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer as itaconic acid, fumaric acid, (meth)acrylic acid, etc., and 10-70 wt.% of a conjugated diene-based monomer such as 1,3-butadiene is subjected to emulsion polymerization without using a chain transfer agent composed of a mercapto group-containing compound such as n-hexylmercaptan, etc., or by using =80% gel content. The latex is compounded with 0.05-5 pts.wt. on the basis of zinc content of a zinc compound such as zinc oxide, etc., based on 100 pts.wt. (calculated as solid content) of the latex to give a latex composition for under coating of release paper.
