COMPOSITION FOR ARTIFICIALLY COLORING SKIN AND USE THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition for coloring skin capable of imparting persistent artificial coloring close to natural suntan to skin just after the application thereof to the skin by including an extract from a plant of the genus Saxifraga. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by including a sufficient amount of at least one extract from at least one species of plant of the genus Saxifraga in a physiologically acceptable support. The extract is obtained from all or a part, e.g. a plant material such as a leaf or a stem of the plant of the genus Saxifraga, e.g. Saxifraga glaucescens by pulverizing the plant material in an aqueous solution under, e.g. cold temperature conditions and removing particles in the resultant suspension. The aqueous solution of the extract can be sterilized and freeze-dried for use. The resultant extract is preferably contained in an amount of 0.05-20 wt.% in the composition. The obtained composition has water resistance and further the resistance to weather (sustainable on skin for several days).
