SOLID-STATE IMAGE SENSOR AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To loosen the processing accuracy of a vertical transfer path and a horizontal transfer path. SOLUTION: This solid-state image sensor includes a plurality of first pixel groups P1a aligned and arranged on a two-dimensional plane 1 in the vertical direction; a plurality of second pixel groups P2a aligned and arranged in the vertical direction as staggered by a half pixel in the horizontal direction and the vertical direction against the first pixel columns P1a; a plurality of vertical charge transfer paths 5(5a, 5b) consisting of a transfer path each in a set of the two pixel columns that are adjacent in the first pixel column P1a and the second pixel column P2a aligned in the vertical direction, and meander in between and extend to the vertical direction between them; and a horizontal charge transfer path 7 that is installed at the lower end of the plurality of vertical charge transfer paths 5, receives a charge transferred from the vertical transfer paths 5, and transfers it to the horizontal direction.
