Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time of welding, to lower the temperature, and to allow welding to a stem base glass without degrading the emission characteristic of an electron gun with no use of an air cooling device, particularly in the case of mounting the electron gun with an impregnated cathode having a low heat resistance. SOLUTION: This neck glass contains one or more sorts of coloring agent selected among CoO, NiO, Cr2O3, V2O5, SeO2, CuO, and MnO. It is preferable that the light transmittance for wave-length 1050 nm as infrared rays is below 85% at a glass thickness of 2.4 mm and that the total content of coloring agent(s) is between 150 and 30,000 ppm.
