Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize rapid and smooth gear shift without using a high speed gear shift mechanism and a control device when gear shift is effected with a rotation synchronizing point situated therebetween. SOLUTION: When a gear shift is executed exceeding a rotation synchronizing point RSP from a present unit gear ratio IVTRATIO toward a target unit gear ratio DIVTRATIO, the gear ratio RATIO of a continuously variable transmission mechanism is changed directly toward a target unit gear ratio and simultaneously, sifting is effected with a power circulation mode clutch and a direct coupling mode clutch brought into a half-clutch state.
