Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for methane-fermenting org. waste minimized in process residue. SOLUTION: In this device, org. waste 12 is charged into a high-pressure sorter 1 having a pressurized chamber for crushing the org. waste 12, an outlet for a crushed paste 19a communicating with the pressurized chamber and a delivery port for delivering the uncrushed residue 41 and a pressurizing means, the crushed paste 19a discharged from the outlet is sent to a fermentation tank 5, and the uncrushed residue 41 delivered from the delivery port is stored in a carbonizer 9. A gas holder 8 for the biogas generated from the fermentation in the tank 5 is provided in communication with the carbonizer 9, the biogas in the holder 8 is introduced into the carbonizer 9 and burned, and the residue 41 is heated, carbonized and reduced in volume. Preferably, a heater communicating with the holder 8 is provided to the tank 5, the biogas is introduced into the heater and burned, and the tank 5 is heated to 50-60 deg.C at which thermophilic bacteria exhibit activity.
