DEVICE AND METHOD FOR INSPECTING ARRANGEMENT OF FLAT CABLE AND MANUFACTURE OF THE FLAT CABLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arrangement inspection device for a flat cable, capable of accurately detecting disarrangement of arrangement of core wires, its arrangement inspection method, and a manufacturing method of the flat cable. SOLUTION: This arrangement inspection device 13 for a flat cable 10, in which light colored core wires and dark colored core wires are arranged in pairs in the width direction comprises an image data obtaining means 21 for obtaining one-dimensional image data over substantially the whole width of the flat cable 10 and a discriminating means 24 that produces binary codes, into light portions and dark portions, the image data obtained by the image data obtaining means 21 according to a prescribed threshold, calculates number of light portions or dark portions that have lengths in a prescribed range determined based on the width of the core wires, and when this number is one smaller than the corresponding number of the flat cable, the arrangement of the core wires is discriminated as being normal.
