SOLUTION: In a mechanical transmission 14, an inertial brake 19 is used only when up-shifting cannot be exacted within a predetermined time span without deceleration by the inertial brake 19. Only when up-shifting cannot be completed within the predetermined time span by using the inertial brake 19 at low deceleration, the inertial brake 19 is used at high deceleration, thereby being protected from heating and wearing. Furthermore, a simulate value of inertial brake temperature is regulated, and the inertial brake 19 is actuated only when the simulate value is lower than a first standard value. Only when the simulate value is lower than a second standard value, the inertial brake 19 is actuated at high deceleration. The first standard value is allowed to be higher than the second standard value. |
