ARTICLE CONVEYING DEVICE AND ARTICLE CONVEYING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably and efficiently perform a conveying work of articles by arranging a sliding plate in a transfer portion between first and second conveyers, and sliding and conveying a predetermined number of articles from the first conveyer on a sliding plate with a transfer means to the second convey er side. SOLUTION: During an operation of an article conveying device 10, an article 12 on the transfer passage terminal side of a plurality of articles 12 transferred on a first conveyer 14 is transferred from a movable plate 44 to a sliding plate 28. Reciprocation of an abutting member 36 moves two articles 12 onto the sliding plate 28. While, an abutting member 38 is moved upward, then returned, and overlaps with the abutting member 36 vertically to the reciprocating movement. Next, the abutting member 36 is moved upward and then returned, while the abutting member 38 is moved downward and pressed. Thus, two articles 12 on the sliding plate 28 are transferred to a holder 22 of a second conveyer 16.
