Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously hold an off-centered base body during the treatment time by surely centering the base body (for example, a photosensitive drum). SOLUTION: This base body centering and holding device 2 comprises a base body holding assembly 4 to fix the axis 8, and a base body centering assembly 6 having an alignment member 24. The alignment member 24 has an inclined surface 26 which is arranged concentric with the axis 8, and inclined in a direction where the base body is moved toward the axis 8 when the base body is brought into slidable contact with the inclined surface 26.
