SOLUTION: This porous membrane is produced by bringing an aqueous solution of an adjusted concentration of polyvinylpyrrolidone having adjusted molecular weight into contact with the surface of a porous membrane main body made of a hydrophobic polyester-based polymer alloy, to deposit and retain the polyvinylpyrrolidone on the surface of the membrane main body and to obtain reformed porous membrane, wherein the ratio (SC2/SC1) of the sieving coefficient (SC2) of a solute by the porous membrane after the reforming to the sieving coefficient (SC1) of the solute by the porous membrane before the reforming is adjusted to a value within the range of 0
