Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make measurable the water level to be monitored, and to monitor the states of the monitoring object and other monitoring objects. SOLUTION: The optical axis of a camera 32 is switched successively toward monitoring objects 12, 14, 16 as subjects, and the subjects are imaged successively by the camera 32. Signals by imaging with the camera 32 are sent to an image processing part 44, and image data relative to each monitoring object are produced at the image processing part 44, and an image including a staff- gate 22 and a baffle plate 24 is processed to measure the water level of a dam 18. The measured data and the image data are transferred to a control center 70 through a modem 46 and a telephone circuit 50, and images of each monitoring object are displayed successively together with the measured data of the water level on a screen of a monitor TV 92.
