Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for smelting a cold iron raw material not requiring an apparatus for conveying and feeding the cold iron raw material to a smelting chamber particularly, capable of preheating the cold iron raw material of a next charge and having very high efficiency. SOLUTION: The smelting apparatus is provided with a smelting chamber 2, a preheating chamber 3 directly connected to an upper side of the smelting chamber 2, and a temperature rising chamber 4 provided on an opposite side of the preheating chamber 3 interposing the smelting chamber 2 in between. For smelting a cold raw material 16, exhaust gases are introduced into the preheating chamber 3 generated in the smelting chamber 2 and the temperature rising chamber 4 by reaction heat generated by oxygen and fuel, wherein the cold iron raw material 16 inside the smelting chamber 2 is smelted and fed to the preheating chamber 3 so that a state in which the cold iron raw material 16 exists continuously inside the preheating chamber 3 and the smelting chamber 2 is kept. Subsequently, at a time when molten metal is accumulated by a specified quantity in the smelting chamber 2, the molten steel 13 is introduced to the temperature rising chamber 4 by tilting the smelting chamber 2. The molten steel 13 is separated from the cold iron raw material 16 inside the smelting chamber 2 and heated as the state is by the temperature rising chamber 4 to rise temperature, and then the molten metal 13 is discharged from the temperature rising chamber 4. |
