Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an orange colorant which is useful as an additive for medicines, by using specific natural type coloring matters. SOLUTION: This orange colorant comprises riboflavin or its derivative and cochineal or cochineal lake. When the colorant is used for coloring a sugar- coated tablet, the surface color tone of the tablet has a lightness (black to white) of 75 to 85, a hue (red to green) of 5 to 20, and a hue (yellow to blue) of 23 to 65. The method for coloring a sugar-coated tablet comprises dissolving the orange colorant comprising riboflavin or its derivative and cochineal or cochineal lake in a liquid for coloring the sugar coating and then coating the sugar tablet with the obtained solution. Titanium dioxide may further be added to produce a pale orange colorant.
