COMBINATION THERAPY FOR MIGRAINE TREATMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a medicinal composition for the treatment of migraine, having a reinforced potency more than conventionally used treatments by incorporating a 5HT1-receptor agonist and caffeine together with a specific inhibitor and a specific carrier. SOLUTION: This composition contains (A) a 5HT$1d1X-receptor agonist or its pharmaceutically permissible salt and (B) caffeine together with (C) a cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitor selected from (i) a compound of formula I (R1 is sulfamyl; R2 is a haloalkyl; R3 is hydride or an alkyl; R4 is an aryl, a cycloalkyl, or the like) or its pharmaceutically permissible salt, or (ii) a cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitor of formula II (R1 is an alkyl, a carboxyalkylk, or the like; R3 is a cycloalkyl, a cycloalkeny, for the like, R4 is a lower alkyl, hydroxyl or amino) or its pharmaceutically permissible salt, and (D) a phermaceutically permissible carrier.
