PERMANENT WAVING COMPRISING PREAPPLICATION OF COMPOSITION COMPRISING AT LEAST ONE ANIONIC POLYMER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out the permanent deformation according to a method for imparting excellent beauty characteristics and persistent deformation (curling or ringleting) to hair and facilitating the styling of the hair by preapplying a specific composition to the hair prior to the application of a reducing composition. SOLUTION: The permanent deformation of hair is carried out according to a method for (A) applying a composition different from a reducing composition and a neutralizing composition used in a step B and containing at least one anionic polymer to the hair, (B) applying the reducing composition and neutralizing composition (at least either one contains at least one cationic polymer) thereto and then (C) rinsing the hair. The anionic polymer of the ingredient A is preferably selected from a polymer comprising a carboxylic unit derived from an unsaturated monomer or a dicarboxylic acid monomer represented by the formula ((n) is 0-10; A is methylene; R5 is H, phenyl or the like; R3 and R4 are each H, a lower alkyl, or the like) or a polymer comprising a unit derived from a sulfonic acid (e.g. vinylsulfonic acid).
