RESOURCE PRESERVATION MANAGING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an unbiased resource-reserving device by reserving network resources at the time of reserving video recording. SOLUTION: Start/finish time information of a program is extracted from an electronic program guide(EPG) processing means 103 and managed by a timer part 104. On the other hand, length information of the program is also extracted from broadcast waves by a length information processing means 105. When a reserving request occurs, a control part 107 refers to a resource reservation managing table 106 concerning the reservation request program to judge whether the length can be assigned at a program start time, and reserves the length to the table 106 at the time of being available. When a reserved time comes, the program is transmitted via a communication interface 108 through the use of a dead channel by a managed length. Since length information is obtained from the broadcast waves, it is performed efficiently.
