Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solenoid valve system for internal combustion engines whose responsiveness is improved by facilitating the detaching of an armature from an electromagnet when power to the electromagnet is cut off. SOLUTION: In this solenoid valve system of an internal combustion engine wherein intake and exhaust valves are held opened and closed by attracting the armature 10 connected to intake and exhaust valves by means of electromagnets in the valve opening and closing directions, the armature 10 comprises a first metal plate 40 made of pure iron whose maximum saturation magnetic flux density is relatively high and a second metal plate 50 made of silicon steel whose iron loss is relatively small layered. This constitution can secure the attraction force of the armature 10, facilitate the detaching of the armature from the electromagnets and improve the responsiveness of the solenoid valve system.
