Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject latex having excellent solvent barrier properties, also good in adhesion to a silicone, and blocking resistance, and having recyclability by using a latex having glass transition temperatures within two specified temperature ranges respectively, and a gel content within a specific range. SOLUTION: This latex for the undercoat of release paper has glass transition temperatures in ranges of (-20)-20 deg.C and 20-60 deg.C respectively, and >=80% gel content. The latex is only required to contain a polymer comprising a polymer part having (-20)-20 deg.C Tg and a polymer part having 20-40 deg.C Tg, and the weight of the component B is preferably 3-100 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. component A. The latex is preferably the one obtained by carrying out an emulsion polymerization of a radically polymerizable monomer containing an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer and a conjugated diene-based monomer.
