Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject inhibitor with endogenous antimicrobial peptide as active ingredient, and to obtain a therapeutic agent with endogenous antimicrobial peptide as active ingredient, intended for improving cachexic conditions. SOLUTION: This inhibitor and the other objective therapeutic agent for improving cachexic conditions caused by tumor, HIV or the like each comprises an antimicrobial peptide as active ingredient; wherein the antimicrobial peptide belongs to Cathalin family or Defensin family, more pref. being PR-39 peptide. A method for improving cachexic conditions can be provided using the above therapeutic agent.
